1. Consent is a clear YES, not the absence of a NO.

2. Consent is explicit, informed, enthusiastic, & ongoing—anything less is not consent.

3. Do not touch any person and or things without their consent.

4. Respect yourself and each other.

5. Be responsible and accountable for your behavior and their effects, intended or not.

6. Self-care: Do not set yourself on fire to keep anyone warm.

POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES

IF YOU ARE FOUND TO HAVE VIOLATED HOUSE FELIDAE RULES, VALUES, OR C.O.C. (BELOW) THE FOLLOWING MAY OCCUR AT OUR DISCRETION:

  • Removal from the event

  • Incident Report created

  • Put on probationary status

  • Banned from future event(s)

I. Statement of Principle

A. House Felidae is committed to providing an fun, educational, and supportive environment that is nurturing and protective of a group culture that values explicit, informed, enthusiastic, and ongoing consent. We are dedicated to protecting the freedom of expression, upholding personal accountability, and striving to correct and or remove persons exhibiting abusive and or predatory behaviors.

B. We expect high standards of behavior from the organizers, presenters, and attendees — that they act responsibly, sensitively, and in consideration of the wellbeing of themselves, others, and House Felidae. Conduct which undermines this code and or is exploitative of others, may be cause for removal from the event, probationary standing, and/or banning from future events. Such conduct includes, but is not limited to, the following:

1. Consent Violations — Examples include but are not limited to: Failure to honor and/or use safewords, failure to honor stated limits and/or boundaries, violations of personal space and/or boundaries.

2. Abusive Behavior/Harassment — Examples include but are not limited to: bullying; coercion; unwanted advances; false accusations or defamation; outing or doxing; stalking; physical, emotional, and/or mental abuse.

II. Violation of this Code of Conduct

A. House Felidae takes reports seriously. If you feel that you are being harassed, have had your consent violated, and or have been made uncomfortable, please notify the Organizer(s) or Host(s) as soon as possible.

B. We acknowledge that our authority and capacity to respond are limited; therefore, we are always prepared to call the police, ambulance, and/or other support services should they be needed.

C. If you are a third party and concerned on behalf of another, please encourage them to contact House Felidae when they feel safe to do so. We will listen to all concerns, but timely, first-hand accounts are more likely to result in action that is immediately beneficial to the victim.

III. Making a Report

A. In-Person: Notify the Organizer(s) or Host(s) that you have an incident to report and a privately held meeting will be arranged with two of them as soon as possible.

B. Notify us by e-mailing us at HouseFelidae@gmail.com, or contact us via FetLife to request a privately held meeting in person or over voice call.

IV. Review Process

A. If a violation of this code of conduct is witnessed or disclosed during an event, the Organizer(s) and or Host(s) are empowered to resolve the matter in the moment, including asking for anyone to leave the event. All such cases will be reported and disclosed to the Organizers for further discussion and/or management.

B. Action taken can range from a warning, to being asked to leave an event, to being put on probation, to banning from all House Felidae events.

V. Summary

A. By attending a House Felidae event, you affirm:

1. You will be honest, respectful, and considerate of yourself and others in all of your interactions and

2. You will be accountable for your words, actions, and behavior.
